Ilinje monastery

llinje Monastery is situated on a beautiful, picturesque and wooded hillside above Blagoveštenje Monastery.
From the clearing in the woods where the monastery is situated there is a magnifcant view of the surroundings of he Ovčar – Kablar gorge.

There are no records when the monastery was erected and who built it. Being in the immediate vicinity of Blagoveštenje Monastery, it was presumedly raised by the monks from Blagoveštenje Monastery who built their metoh ( a small church and land around it ) when they became more powerful.

The monastery was built in 1938 on the site of the old monastery.
