Bačka Palanka

Museum - Bačka PalankaThe municipality Bačka Palanka is one of the municipalities in Republic of Serbia.

It is situated in AP Vojvodina and belongs to the South Bačka District. It comprises the surface of 579 km.

Thank to the favorable climate, influence of Fruška Gora and the Danube, the municipality Bačka Palanka is abundant with flora and fauna painted through the nature reservations.

Multiculturalism, cultural heritage, historical events and often migrations are factors that have made certain recognition of  Bačka Palanka and settlements in the municipality.

Bačka Palanka is the town of sport and sportsmen.

Variety of Bačka Palanka and residents’  customs in this municipality in Vojvodina has been shown through the many events. The events are numerous and they express the joy of the life in Bačka Palanka literally. VILLAGES IN THE MUNICIPALITY BAČKA PALANKA :

ČELAREVO

Before World War 2, the settlement was called Cib. The castle Dundjerski is significant, which was built as a castle summer house in neoclassicism style at the beginning of 19th century, as a beer museum, as a part of Carlsberg brewery whose beerr tasting one should not miss. It is also very interesting the resort Poloj Cibska forest, near Čelarevo, an attractive place for picnic lovers, as in early spring and autumn in the time of bathing season.

OBROVAC

The Serbians founded the settlement in 1308. After Mohačka batle. The village is famous for sheeps farming, and there is even an event in name of that. It is also famous for exavation of Celthic money.

KARAĐORĐEVO

An oasis of rest, hunting and hors sport, first famous for horse farm of full – blooded horses. For tourist visits, there is a chance for hunting ground, horse farm, hippodrome and horse farm museum tour. „ First May Reveille ” is the traditional cultural, sport anl tourist event in Karadjordjevo and it has been held for 25 years. Hunting house Diana and bungalows in Hunting centre Vranjak. Game and fish specialtiesare offered to the guests. Hunting ground Kradjordjevo exclusively does the commercial hunting for big game of high hunting. The special reservation of nature Karadjordjevo is famous for Tito’ s residence.

TOVARIŠEVO

A colorful village known by Mileta Protic, a pilot born in the village, whose plane is settled even today in the village. The residents are the hosts of the International Festival of children folklore ” Ala volem kolo da igram “.

MLADENOVO

The Hungarian King Bela 4th founded the village in 13th century under the name Bukin. ” Bukinski rit ” Lovrenac is according to legit data recorded as the greatest hatchery of pike in the Danube armiet, extremely attractive for fishing and bird watching.

NOVA GAJDOBRA

A small village that is characteristic for potato production. The Orthodox Church in the village is a very important sacral facility in the village.

SILBAŠ

The first church in Silbas was raised little before 1755. The new church was built in 1759 and it was very small. The village is characteristic for watermelon growing, different species . . . and there is a day of celebration at the end of July.

GAJDOBRA

For the first time it was mentioned in 1464 under the name Dobra. The same place was mentioned in 1554, as a settlement  Gornja Dobra and Donja Dobra where were mostly Serbians. At the end of 1990 – s there was being built the Orthodox church St. Petra. Ther is importance of many doctors of science, recognized scientists and sport people.

DESPOTOVO

Despotovo-The Church St. Jovana PretečaAs the cultural development of the village is concerniS, it is important to mention the Cultural society Logovac from Dospotovo, which preserves folklore and traditional values.

Every year, ther is Ivandanski susreti held, and event that lasts three days and gathers folklore and good, old song lovers.

It is famous for hors races which are held twice a year, as same as for fishing place that  gives the pleasure of fishing.

PARAGE

The settlement is important for the municipality of diverse vegetable. For the first time it was mentioned in 1473. Filip Višnjić visited Parage in 1812, and the famous American writer Charles Alverson lived here.

VIZIĆ

In Vizić ther was born a poet Djordje Pisarev. A small village with several natural springs, inclined On National Park Fruška Gora, with amazing natural environment for an active rest. A path through the forest leads toward the monastery Djipsa and the natural location where the unique white garlic Sremus grows.

NEŠTIN

NeštinIn 1759, Nestin got a new church.
The iconostasis, work of Teodor Dimitrijevic Kracun was finished in 1773 and it is a masterpiece of baroque among Serbians. The village is famous for vine and for production of the wine of high quality.

Association of wine makers, vinedressers and fruit growers Nestin, celebrates day of wine makers on February 14th. The museum house in Srem, family hause Savic, presents a developed type of a village house, which characterizes area of Srem in 18th century, made of wooden canes and mud. In the traditional Serbian style.

PIVNICE

Lazar Mirković, a history scientist,liturgical scientist, theologian and one of the founders of Theological University in Belgrade has the origin from Pivnice. Jovan Skerlić was through his mother line from Pivine, also mother of the Serbian patriarch Georgij Branković was by the origin Pivnice from the family Bikar. Now days the origin from production of Pivnicik cheese.
