Banja Vrdnik
Novi Sad - centar Vojvodine, Spas
Banja Vrdnik is nestled on the southern slopes of Fruška Gora mountain, 240 metres above sea level, 24 km from Novi Sad and 74 km from Belgrade. Known for its 32.8°C thermal water, clean mountain air and the Termal complex with five pools and a full medical rehabilitation programme.
Banja Vrdnik lies in a natural amphitheatre on the southern slopes of Fruška Gora, at an elevation of 240 metres. It is 24 km from Novi Sad and 74 km from Belgrade. The dense forests of Fruška Gora surround the spa, while the clean mountain air qualifies Vrdnik as a climatic resort in addition to its thermal and hydro-therapeutic offer.
Vrdnik is first mentioned in 1315 as a fortress. One of the most significant chapters in the town's history was coal mining — the mine opened in 1804 as one of the oldest on the territory of former Yugoslavia and operated until 1968.

Vrdnik Tower
Above the spa rises the Vrdnik Tower — a historic fortification whose foundations date back to Roman times. Historians believe the Roman Emperor Probus built a fortification here around 287 AD, while the tower as it stands today was erected in the 14th century to defend Vrdnik. A modern restaurant and banquet complex in wood and stone has been built alongside the tower, offering panoramic views over Fruška Gora and the Vojvodina plain — a popular venue for celebrations and weddings.
Accommodation & Recreation
In addition to Termal, Vrdnik offers private accommodation in cottages and apartments scattered across the Fruška Gora hillsides. Hiking and cycling trails are nearby, and several Fruška Gora monasteries lie within easy reach.
